Do I prefer a quasi-monopolistic, contra-intuitive, eternal beta version that starts manipulating me before installation is even finished, or a creative, intelligent and highly flexible freeware, that lets me be party of its evolution?

Firefox is a win, no questions asked. But I guess for the average Internet user who doesn't really care about add-ons or stuff, IE seems to do the job just fine - it does load the web page, right? :-) Firefox just does the job better.

maybe this vs. topic should be superior browser -vs- people who are too lazy to take 5 minutes and get a good browser lol

This question seems resolved. A better debate would be Safari vs. Firefox :)

Firebug alone gives this one to FireFox. Come on, fair fight anyone?

I don't think I could survive without firebug. I can't understand why people still use IE6/7 when it only takes a few minutes to download ff or chrome. At least mac users get a default browser that knows how to render a page.
